A twenty-person remote studio doesn't have a large environmental footprint, but that's no reason to skip the accounting. Here's what we do.
Remote by default
We don't have a head office, and we don't fly the whole team together more than once a year. Most of our meetings are async, written, and short.
Hosting
Our websites run on a global network of data centres powered by renewable energy. We do not pay extra for a "green" badge. We use the regular tier, which the provider publicly reports as running on renewable energy.
What we don't do
- We do not publish a fancy sustainability report — there is no story here big enough to justify one.
- We do not market sustainability as a feature of our products.
- We do not buy carbon offsets for the team — we do not fly enough for that to make sense.
